About this experience

Opened in 1988, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium is one of the world’s largest marine aquariums, situated in Darling Harbour. The facility holds over 2 million litres of water in its flagship Day and Night on the Reef tank and showcases a diverse range of marine habitats, from tropical coral reefs to Antarctic waters. Visitors can wander through immersive ocean tunnels that bring the underwater world up close, while learning about conservation initiatives supported by the SEA LIFE Trust.

Highlights include the world‑first Penguin Expedition boat ride, where real King and Gentoo penguins glide past, and Dugong Island, home to rescued dugongs Pig and Wuru. The aquarium also supports marine turtle rescue and rehabilitation programmes. A general admission ticket provides instant mobile entry and a recommended visit duration of around two hours, allowing ample time to explore permanent exhibits, interactive displays and educational presentations.

The experience is family‑friendly and fully accessible, with audio guides available in several languages for an extra fee. Remember to bring a smartphone to display your ticket, and consider arriving early during peak periods to enjoy a relaxed visit.
